Saint Martha Parish

On Sunday, February 26th at the 10:00 AM Mass, Fr. Villa, Fr. Bruno and some of the congregation Processed outside to participate in the burning of the palms to use on Ash Wednesday.
As Fr. Villa began to read the prayers, dried Palms were placed in the fire pit and set ablaze.  It felt very personal to use the dried up palms from last years Palm Sunday celebration that were collected from our parishioners.
On Ash Wednesday these ashes were placed on our fore heads as a reminder that we will, one day return to the earth from which we came.
Thus begins our Lenten journey of fasting & penance while preparing for Holy week and the Passion of our Lord.  We do all these things with the hope and anticipation of Easter,  the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
